The Bridge for Resilience, Empowerment and Development Organization (B R E D O) is a non-governmental, non-profit humanitarian and development organization established to support risk-informed, inclusive, and community-driven resilience in contexts of vulnerability and crisis.
Registered under the Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration & Control) Ordinance, 1961, with the Social Welfare Department, Government of Sindh, and formally registered in December 2025, BREDO operates in accordance with national regulatory requirements and internationally recognized humanitarian and development standards. The organization adopts a people-centered and rights-based approach, emphasizing dignity, inclusion, and accountability across all areas of engagement.
Our work is structured around interlinked thematic areas that address the underlying drivers of risk and vulnerability. These thematic areas include disaster risk reduction and preparedness, gender-responsive community resilience, and disability-inclusive planning and protection. Together, they guide the organization’s strategic orientation toward prevention, preparedness, and long-term resilience rather than reactive response.
Across our thematic focus, we prioritize early risk identification, local capacity strengthening, and inclusive preparedness, recognizing that resilience is most sustainable when communities are actively involved in shaping solutions. Particular attention is given to ensuring that women, youth, and persons with disabilities are meaningfully included in resilience planning and decision-making processes.
The organization works in collaboration with communities, public institutions, civil society actors, and humanitarian partners to support coordinated, transparent, and sustainable approaches. The organization aligns local action with broader humanitarian and development frameworks, contributing to resilience outcomes that are locally grounded and internationally coherent.
To strengthen safe, resilient, and inclusive communities through risk-informed, gender-responsive, and disability-inclusive approaches that enhance preparedness, reduce vulnerability, and support sustainable development.
A society in which communities are prepared, resilient, and empowered to manage risk, protect human dignity, and shape their own sustainable futures, with inclusion, equity, and participation at the core of development and humanitarian action.
